Say Nothing (Poem)

Let's watch the flames Rage into ashy embers, As the shore deadens The wrath of the sea: We are witnesses. Not mere witnesses; Just a little accomplice I see, in my mind's eye, Your mind's eye looking Into my mind's eye: Two souls forever entwined,   Not lost, not knowing; Just somewhat aware. I see their faces emblazoned on ours; I hear their calls, not made by words. I can hear them coming, can't you? …say nothing. Let's smile as we gaze into These indifferent dying flames And our hearts Sing unsung songs of love, And the universe glad we share a space. © Jude Ifeme
